What are your Superpowers?

You don't have to have a Cape to be a Superhero....You don't even have to be a Superhero to have Superpowers.

We all have Superpowers--it just may not be what you call them. We all have strengths and we often do not even recognize them.

In fact, we may often look at them as weaknesses or a wrongness. It is often the things that come to us with the most ease that we do not even acknowledge that we have a capacity in that area.

What are you amazing at or with that you have not ever considered or acknowledged?

What if you would allow yourself to fly to the greatest heights, to the deepest depths and jump off the cliff of limitations and unlock your Cape along the Adventure?

It doesn't have to look, feel, taste or even smell perfect. The willingness to be vulnerable and show up cape-less can be the greatest feat. It takes courage and strength and an honoring of you to be present and to be as different as you truly be.

I'm a little crazy. I'm a little weird. I haven't always done things by this reality's standards. And when I have, I make quite a mess of myself. My Superpowers get squished and I even forget they exist.

I'm a little different. Never quite felt like I fit in. Actually I would even suggest that I am probably from a different planet. I do love our Earth greatly, but it is not always easy for me to be here.

Have you ever felt like you don't fit in? Like you are the misfits, the weird ones, the square pegs that are trying to fit into round holes, the ones that are so different they stand out wherever they go. The ones with talents and abilities that are often misunderstood and are labeled as "disabled" or "wrong" by most of the world.

When you try to fit a square peg in a round hole, the hammering and bending required to fit in this reality can truly hurt but ultimately you are destroying the peg!

As Steve Jobs said, "Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The trouble makers. The round pegs in the square holes...the ones who see things differently- they're not fond of rules...You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change things...they push the human race forward and while some may see them as the cray ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do."

Have you been destroying you?

What if you are different?

What if you are more like the "X Men?"

The "X Men" are the "different" ones. They are the gifted ones. They are the rebels. They don't abide by this reality's standards and rules. They are the ones typically "labeled" or "diagnosed" as having disabilities, dysfunctions or limitations.

However, they have talents and abilities that are often not identified by this reality....as those abilities are abnormal--- they go beyond what most are willing to see. I get to work and play with kids that have been labeled and diagnosed. And they never cease to amaze me. They have been such a contribution to me.

They are the ones who have shown me my own Superpowers.

They have gifted me a space-- a space to be me, to honor and nurture me. I never realized that I actually had the gift of being space..... as it usually is one of those things that comes with such grace that I had misidentified it as not being able to relate to others, lacking the ability to have relationships with others, not having the words to communicate my thoughts or insights.

And now I know....S P A C E....is a gift, a talent, a capacity.

It is the ability to be present without judgment, without conclusion, without a preconceived point of view of someone or how something should be or even how it should show up. Space allows me to perceive someone, to know someone, to receive someone beyond their labels, dis-abilities and limitations and to Be with them....no matter what that looks like.

As one of the kids that I have worked with, typed to me one day, "I like being around you because you get me."

Now that's a Superpower!

Grab your cape as it is time to Fly! ;)

The future for the X-Men kids is dependent on us learning how to deal with them, learning what’s true, and learning how to promote and increase their abilities, and not try to make them live like us.” – Gary Douglas, Founder Access Consciousness
